- How did you come up with the name Tiny Stampede?
A few years ago, we moved into a new house with a more open/larger floor plan. Shortly after, my youngest began walking (running!). While it was heartwarming to watch all 4 kids run and play together (certainly not all the time…we have our fair share of tears and tantrums), it truly sounded like a tiny stampede was running around our house from 6am – 8pm! With that, the name Tiny Stampede was born.
- What made you want to open an online children’s boutique?
I don’t know if I’d call it a boutique. I’m more of an online moderator who lets you know when good children’s clothing items are on sale, or, cute pieces that are worth the extra buck. I follow a lot of great women’s fashion bloggers on Instagram, and do a lot of shopping, for myself, through that. With 4 kids, I rarely go to the mall anymore, so I thought it’d be a great way to do children’s clothing, too.

- Tell us a little bit about yourselves!
I am a former first grade teacher, turned stay-at-home-mom. My husband and I have been married for 11 years, and have 4 kids (two girls/two boys), ages 9, 6, 4 and 3. My 3 and 4 year old are 13 months apart, which was absolute craziness for about two years. Now that they’re a little older, we’ve dialed it back to only about 75% craziness 😉 I’m originally from the Detroit area, but have lived in Omaha, Cincinnati and now Lincoln, Nebraska. I love to travel, although we haven’t done a whole lot in the past few years, but have put a few fun things on the books for the future. I enjoy all things fashion and home decor. Pinterest is fun to browse, but I’m terrible at executing most things. Between two babies in two years, and moving halfway across the country shortly after, PPD ate me alive for a little while. I’ve worked my way back, and it feels so so good to feel like myself again (insert the raise the roof emoji). I’m mediocre at cooking, but I’m really good at ordering take-out. I love spending time with my kids, but love my alone time, too. I’ve always been a night owl, but it got worse after baby #4 and my desperation for time to myself. This perpetuated my coffee loving ways (serious coffee lover over here!). I enjoy learning new things, which is how I fell in love with this blogging adventure.
- Tell us about one of your top sellers.
My most visited blog post was one of my most recent ones. It was about darling little girls fall shoes that were on sale. There were links to really great deals that I took advantage of myself!
- What do you want your customers to know?
With 4 kids, I am constantly on the lookout for a good deal. I like to do quick and easy online shopping at well known stores/brand where I know what I’m getting (Gap, Target, Nordstrom, Old Navy, etc.). I almost always try to create a gallery of clothing in my blog posts that have a variety of sale/non-sale items. Somethings are too cute to pass up, and might not be discounted. I post, and only promote, items that I would buy for my own kids.
- Would you say your brand portrays a certain style?
My brand is classic style, mixed with modern flair. I’m a sucker for traditional, but love checking out the latest trends. My oldest is 9, and she’s testing the fashion waters, so my style takes a back seat with her these days.
- What makes your brand unique?
I feel as though my blog/Instagram is unique because I advertise current styles from well known/loved brands for children, so you know what you’re getting. I love supporting small businesses, too, but that can get very expensive. I have a few friends that own small businesses, and their little boutiques are to-die-for!
- What is it like being an entrepreneurial mom?
Having this entrepreneurial outlet was the missing component I needed to feel a healthy balance. I have two kids in school full time, and two that go to half day preschool. I work better when I’m busier, and our schedule is nothing short of that! I might give a few fingers and toes to guarantee my schedule being the same everyday, so I have to accept that I might not accomplish much of anything some days (which is total #momlife), but it’s all a part of this gig. It feels so good to be motivated towards a goal that I’m excited about, and, truthfully, I feel as though I truly enjoy spending time with my kids again. That is a huge reward all in itself. It’s all a work in progress, but we all are, right?
- What is your favourite motivational quote?
There are a lot of great quotes that can apply most days, but the one that reminds to simplify is “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford.
- What can we expect from you in Winter 2017?
Winter is such a great time to find fantastic deals on children’s clothing and toys. We have a lot of summer birthdays in our house, along with lots of birthday parties that we get invited to. Personally, I do a lot of extra shopping during the holiday season, and tuck things away for next year. With the holidays quickly approaching, I’m looking forward to creating blog/Instagram posts with great clothing finds, along with holiday gift guides!
